I’m Max Vallery-Masson — agency owner, husband, father, and someone who built this from the ground up in a country that wasn’t my own.

My wife Olivia and I moved to the United States with a vision: to build a better life for our family and create something that would outlast us. We recently became proud U.S. citizens — a milestone we don’t take lightly. That journey taught me that the right environment, the right system, and the right people make all the difference.

New agents have real questions. Here are honest answers to the ones we hear most.

Do I need prior insurance or sales experience?
Not at all. Many of MVM’s top producers came from completely unrelated backgrounds — military, education, retail, and more. What matters is work ethic, coachability, and a genuine desire to help families. The training system handles the rest. If you can follow a process and show up consistently, you can succeed here.
Is this full-time or can I start part-time?
Both are possible. Symmetry Financial Group is built for flexibility — agents can work remotely on a schedule that fits their lifestyle. That said, the agents who build the fastest and earn the most treat it as a full-time business from day one. Starting part-time is fine; the key is showing up consistently and treating every hour like it counts.
How do I get clients and leads?
MVM agents have access to SFG’s Quility LeadStream system — a lead program that delivers pre-qualified families who have requested information about coverage. A Leads (under 21 days old, exclusive to you for 5 weeks) are available for purchase through the Opt! CRM once you’re contracted. You also build your warm market from day one, which is often where your first sales come from.
How and when do I get paid?
SFG pays on an advance commission model. You receive 75% of your earned commission within a few days of your client’s first premium payment, with the remaining 25% paid approximately 10 months later. Starting commission is 80%, which increases as you hit production milestones. There is no salary — this is a commission-based independent contractor opportunity.
What products will I sell?
MVM agents specialize in four core product lines: Final Expense (whole life for funeral/burial costs), Mortgage Protection (term life tied to a family’s home loan), Indexed Universal Life (IUL) for long-term wealth building, and Annuities for retirement income. You’ll be trained on all four through Quility U and daily coaching calls, and write through 30+ top-rated carriers.
What does the first week look like?
Day 1: Complete all onboarding steps on this page — Five Voices, Slack setup, calendar, handbook. Then enroll in your pre-licensing course and start studying immediately. Attend the morning “Start Your Day Right” call every weekday. Max and the team will guide you through each next step. The first week is about building the foundation — don’t skip any of it.
How long does it take to get licensed?
Most agents complete their pre-licensing course and pass their state exam within 2โ€“4 weeks if they study 1โ€“2 hours daily. After passing, the SFG contracting process typically takes another 1โ€“2 weeks. Your goal is to be licensed, contracted, and writing business within your first 30 days. Every day you delay is a day you’re not earning.
What if I get stuck or have questions?
You’re never alone at MVM. Post in the #new-agents Slack channel and someone will respond within 24 hours. Max runs live Q&A sessions every weekday morning where you can ask anything. The Agent Handbook covers most common questions in detail. And Max is personally accessible — this isn’t an agency where leadership disappears after you join.
